the first vision

The First Vision is Joseph Smith's account of seeing God the Father and Jesus Christ in 1820. However, multiple conflicting accounts exist, written years after the supposed event, with significant differences in details—including whether one or two beings appeared. The earliest account wasn't recorded until 1832, and the canonized version from 1838 differs substantially from earlier tellings. These discrepancies lead many to question the foundational event of Mormonism.
