church history
The Mormon religion is predicated on what are said to be historical events such as the First Vision of Joseph Smith and the historicity of the Book of Mormon, which describes a detailed pre-Columbian history of the Americas. In studying the honest history of the church events, one finds that the church distorts its history in order to portray itself in a more favorable light. The church will routinely omit any unsavory parts of its own history until it is forced to acknowledge them.
