blind faith
The Mormon church promotes faith without evidence and discourages questioning or doubt. Members are taught to rely on spiritual feelings over facts, to "doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith," and to trust leaders even when their counsel doesn't make sense. This blind obedience can prevent members from critically examining church history, doctrine, and practices. When members discover troubling information, they often feel betrayed that their unquestioning faith was exploited.
