This site is dedicated to hosting mormon faith transition stories. These stories are told by real people with real lives. You can create an account and tell your own story. We’ve found that writing our story is cathartic as well as reading the stories of others is therapeutic. It is validating to find similarities in the stories. The mission of this site is to destigmatize the doubt and stop demonizing mormons who decide to leave the faith.
Did you know you can sign up and register for a wasmormon profile too? Just click the create profile link, and add your email. You’ll receive an email with further light and knowledge.
How do you create an account?
Click “create profile” link in the site main navigation or click “Join” at the very top of the site
Enter a username and your email address.
The username will be what you are known by on the site, it can be changed later.
The email confirms you are a real person.
Click the link in the email to finish creating your account.
Set a password.
Login
Begin sharing your story on the profile edit page.
Save as you go.
Don’t forget to share your profile with others!
Note that there are instructions to help you along the way once you start editing the account. Once you have entered a few details you can save the profile and view it online. You can return anytime to the site to add more to your story. Nearly everything in the profile is optional, and you don’t need to out yourself if you are not ready. Use a pseudonym if you wish.
Here are the steps repeated but with images to walk you through the process
Click “create profile” link in the main menu or click “Join” at the very top of the site in the shortcut menu.

Set a password. You can have the site generate a strong password for you if you wish.
Once you have set a password, click the Log in link to login with your password.
On the login form, you can log in with either your username or your email address and your password.
Alternatively, you can visit the site and click any login link to arrive at this login form where you enter the same username/email and password. This will be the way you log in when you return to the site to edit your profile or submit any written blog posts.
Begin sharing your story on the profile edit page. The first two fields are required, introduce yourself and add a little tagline to your profile.
Continue creating your profile. There are optional sections that expand if you click them to answer questions from a list, add labels to your profile placing yourself on the mormon spectrum and putting issues on your shelf and finally some settings for controlling your displayed name and privacy settings for where you want your profile to display. Finally don’t forget to hit the update button to save your changes. You can return anytime to add to or edit your story too.
Don’t forget to share your profile with others! When viewing your profile, you’ll find an edit button at the bottom too.
