Erin’s story is one many will recognize—rooted in faith, family, and a deep desire to do what’s right. Born in the heart of Mormon culture and raised in a devout, active household, she embraced the church with her whole heart. From the joy of girls camp and EFY to the dedication of serving a mission in Washington DC, Erin lived the Mormon ideal. She married in the temple, built a family, and followed the path she had been taught was sacred.
But like so many others, Erin’s journey took a turn. Moving across the country, raising children, and growing into her own identity gave her space to reevaluate her beliefs. Stepping away from the church was a bold, honest, and empowering decision. Erin’s voice adds depth and compassion to the broader conversation of faith, identity, and choosing authenticity over expectation.

I’m Erin. I was born in SLC and moved to Vernal, UT when I was three. I grew up very Mormon. Very active, very believing.
I attended EFY a couple of times and absolutely lived for girls camp. I went to college at Utah State University, and took a break to serve in the Washington DC South Mission. Six months after my return I married my high school best friend in the Vernal Temple.
We now live in Georgia. I’m a woman, a reader, a creator and mother of three. I was a Mormon.
