Brian Was a Mormon, an Ex-Mormon Profile Spotlight

Brian’s story is one of courage, complexity, and personal truth. A vibrant personality, Brian embraced his life as a Mormon with sincerity, believing 100%, and even serving a mission in London at the age of 19. He faithfully followed the teachings, made sacrifices, and lived with conviction, while also navigating the unique challenges of being diabetic, dyspraxic, and autistic.

Leaving the church was not a decision he made lightly. It came after deep disillusionment—when the integrity he expected from church leaders gave way to lies, and the image of Jesus he had trusted unraveled. Walking away from a faith that once defined him took immense strength and self-honesty. Brian’s journey reminds us that reclaiming your life and beliefs in the face of betrayal is not just brave—it’s liberating.

Hi, I’m Brian. I like basketball, martial arts, dance, and rock music. I served a mission in London, 1998, when I was 19. I’m diabetic type 1, dyspraxic, and autistic. I was a Mormon.

I’m a fun loving guy who had plenty of girlfriends. I was 14 or 15 years old for my first date, first kiss at 19, and I was a virgin until the age of 31.

There were times when I did believe in the church 100%. That was paying money, and following the rules. I left due to leaders and Bishops spreading lies. And finding out Jesus was not Jesus.
