Biography
George F. Richards was an apostle from 1906 until his death in 1950 and served as President of the Quorum of the Twelve. The son of apostle Franklin D. Richards, he continued a family tradition of church leadership.
Richards served as a temple president and was known for his spiritual experiences. He became Acting Patriarch to the Church and President of the Twelve in his final years.
His 44 years of apostolic service spanned significant periods of church history, from the post-polygamy adjustment through World War II.
