How did you come to be Mormon? Were you raised in the church?

I was raised mormon and my parents and their parents were too. I'm breaking the chain.

I was adopted by a white Mormon convert family. I was raised in the Church because I had no other choice. Until we turned 18 years old, Church attendance was mandatory. After we became 18, we couldn't be forced to go, but my parents pressured us to, even being passive-aggressive about it. To this day, my dad doesn't care what we do, just as long as we go to the Mormon Church.

My Parents were baptized when I was just over a year old. i am now 60. So I was essentially raised in the church.  We lived in England from 1961 to 1973. My parents were very strict.

I was born and raised in the church. My parents were raided in the church as well. They made me participate in church and scouts. I do not blame them for my negative experiences in the church: they were just doing what they believed to be right, what the church had told them was right. I blame the church for my negative experiences and the lasting effects the church has on a person after leaving it.
