I was a 5th Generation Mormon for 2/3 of my life

About me

Was born into a Mormon home, with a strict Mormon Dad and a non-Mormon Mom. They raised us Mormon because that’s how my Dad was raised and figured it was good for him and it’d be good for us. Grew up not believing in it, but just going along because that’s what Mom and Dad wanted. Finally grew up and decided to get serious about growing up by following the prescribed Mormon path, school, mission, college, marriage, kids, career, raise family Mormon, for same reasons as my Dad. Because that was the way the past generations did it.

# Why I left More stories of 'Why I left' the Mormon church

Racism mainly.
I always had a problem with the blatant Mormon racism that’s still alive and well in the Mormon church, which I call ‘The abusive CULT of Joseph’s Myth of Doomsday Sychphants” because that’s what it is.
Everything about it is abusive.
Kids get abused as a result.
It needs to be called out, especially now!
