I am an active LDS member

About me

I’m a life long member living most of my life outside Utah and the Mtn. West. Most of my career years are also outside the Mtn. West. Mostly employed as the only LDS member every where I have worked. The same in school classes my entire life. I have been known as LDS via HR departments to all my coworkers before my very first day(s) on every job. For nearly 18 months working in a giant grocery warehouse there were between 40 to 50 young men in school studying for the ministry… all Protestants. It was never dull and a constant stream of discussions about my faith and theirs. This was after my mission and two years at BYU.
My father had a scholarship to Columbia Bible College So. Carolina. He’d been schooled in a Baptist school 1st through 12th grade. Every week he had scripture memorizing due, plus  scripture chase preparation for every Friday. He graduated school valdivictorian! Several month before Bible College he met LDS Missionaries. He studied, compared, and read the Book of Mormon with the Bible. He gained a testimony of the BOM through study and prayer.

He like myself have seen and felt the power of the Holy Ghost bear witness to many converts.

# Why I left More stories of 'Why I left' the Mormon church

I as well as my father have stayed active in the Church and active in the gospel of Jesus Christ our whole lives.

Living right, regular scripture study plus being on my knees morning, bedtime, and in between
makes a huge difference in my life. I know the BOM and gospel is true and the reality of my Savior Jesus Christ.

Doubts sometimes, especially when I’m not as  faithful as I could or should be. I get back to my habits, do necessary research, and suffer with my sins and pride, repent, and find forgiveness for my mistakes in the Lord Jesus Christ. I’m still learning from my mistakes at 74 years old.
I could never leave. I’ve seen too much and now to much with the help of the Holy Ghost.

I have numerous books on my shelves about the Savior, Other books by Both Bible and Book of Mormon scholars. A favorite book titled: “He Walked the Americas” by- L. Taylor
Hansen, archaeologist (a non-LDS lady). Her father was Professor Taylor, a co-originator of the Taylor-Wegener Theory of Continental Drift, universally accepted. Taylor Hansen is author of other books, has a Masters Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology and Geology from Stanford University. An authority on the Indians of both North and South America, having studied among them for thirty years. Her earliest studying of Indians was with her father and his partner Professor Wegener. They studied the geology of No. America interviewing thousands of Indians with ancient narratives of the geology and maps around their tribal and generational lands. Young Miss Taylor Hansen spent her Summers with her dad. Got to know the Indian playmates and families … all over America! Indian legends of the Americas in the hundreds were her entertainment then, preoccupation. Her Christian background and studies taught her the truth in the New Testament East with the Indian legends of the West.

Ms. Taylor Hansen states, “In this book is proof that the Savior came not only to one continent, but to all the world.” Therefore, strengthening your faith as no other could!”

I loved this book.

I also love the picture of Jesus Christ painted by a Methodist man, last name Beachcroft. Things like this adorn my shelves and walls.
