Hello, I'm carol!
I was a Mormon convert.
About me
I was a 2017 convert. My original ward was like Zion to me, I felt so loved and valued there. However, as a senior, I had to downsize and move from the area to another ward.
# Why I left More stories of 'Why I left' the Mormon church
Becoming involved in the new ward was a strange experience. I didn’t feel accepted, or wanted. Many times I was either treated as a project, or completely isolated and ignored. Members said and did certain things I found odd and unacceptable (this would include gossip, personal questions, crossing boundaries, and violation of confidences). The whole matter has hurt my feelings deeply and damaged my health. I had so much to give - but it’s clear I’m not valued (other than being a checkmark in someone’s proverbial box).
