Biography
Patrick Kearon is an apostle who has served since 2023, having been called following the death of M. Russell Ballard. Born in England, Kearon brings a British perspective to the apostleship.
Kearon grew up in various countries as his father worked in international business. He joined the church as a young man and has served in various leadership capacities in Europe. He was serving as a general authority seventy and as President of the Europe Area when called as an apostle.
He is known for compassionate messages about refugees and those suffering. His work with refugee populations while in Europe brought attention to humanitarian needs. His talk “Refuge from the Storm” addressed the church’s responsibilities to those fleeing danger.
Kearon represents the continued internationalization of church leadership. His British heritage and European experience provide perspective on the global church.
As the most recently called apostle, he is still establishing his voice and emphasis in the Quorum of the Twelve.
