I'm Meggan
I was a mormon.
About me
I was born and raised in the church. I loved singing primary songs at the top of my lungs, then hymns. I served as president of both the Beehive and Mia Maid classes. I was happy and content in the LDS church until I hit my senior year of high school, when I began to realize I was lesbian. After November 2015, I stopped going consistently to my YSA ward, but after God and I duked it out for a couple months, I wanted religion back in my life. In April I began attending Community of Christ, which has become my family and my spiritual home. My transformation in this community continues to be a joy to me. I have found new ways of encountering God. I have discovered new confidence in myself and have learned to trust the light within me. I have become part of a family that shares in laughter, pain, and grace. In leaving the LDS church, I have gone on to find forever friends, a stronger self, a beautiful God, and a home.
