I'm Augustus
I was a mormon.
About me
Stepping back from the church has allowed me to be who I was truly born to be. It’s been a hard process, mostly because I didn’t know how to reconcile my faith in what I believed with who I was. I can tell you the more simple answer is separating the gospel from the church and separating spirituality from religion. I believe I was sent here to fight for who I am and to teach people through that journey tolerance and love in order to soften their hearts so they can progress on this earth.
I am a transgender male and I came out 11/21/15 in a video you can view here: facebook.com/AugustusCrosby/videos/1653146068269611/. At the time, I very much didn’t know where I would be able to fit into the church. Now I know I don’t (however I do fit into the gospel). At least, I don’t now, and I don’t expect to during this lifetime. I don’t mind as much as I used to because I have found a wonderful group of people who share similar stories and I know that my heart is in the right place. I still love to serve, and in fact I’m the community service chair in a queer fraternity at ASU (Sigma Phi Beta).
