# Why I left More stories of 'Why I left' the Mormon church

At age 19, life was changing. So was I. I looked to a patriarchal blessing, to what I believed to be divine direction. What could offer more peace than a message from God? Or so I thought.

For twenty years, I lived with untreated OCD. At age 40, therapy offered answers and understanding. Both of which had been missing in my life. I believe in evidence-based treatment and in better days. I believe that change starts with recognition of a problem. I wish I had understood the troubled relationship between mental health and Mormonism—sooner rather than later.

I read your book and enjoyed it very much. My LDS story is quite different from yours, but you give me inspiration to keep writing it. Best wishes, Grace
